The is in Colchester County on Nova Scotia's northern shore. Truro offers the best of both worlds: small-town ambiance (pop. 13,000) combined with a full range of commercial and recreational opportunities. Truro, known as the 'Hub of Nova Scotia,' has much to offer and is a must-see for anyone passing by or living in the area.

Truro and area is geographically located at the halfway point between the Equator and the North Pole. This location lends itself to average monthly temperatures that compare favourably to all other areas of Canada and the United States. The summer months (June-September) tend to be warm with temperatures ranging from 19掳C to 25掳C*, cooling off in mid-late September. Throughout the winter months (December-March), temperatures typically range from -12掳C to 3掳C.* Each of the four distinct seasons offers its own beauty and bounty to residents of Truro.听

Bible Hill

The is located across the Salmon River from the Town of Truro. The village was incorporated in 1953 and today, with a population of over 5,000, Bible Hill is a vibrant, primarily residential community. 正品蓝导航's Agricultural Campus occupies a large area in the village and is the single largest employer in Bible Hill. 听

Bible Hill features spectacular walking trails through nine recreational parks and is home to the popular Truro Raceway.听

The Cox Institute is the heart of student life at Dal AC and the ideal starting point for your campus experience. It houses Enrollment Services鈥攜our go-to for admissions, scholarships, registration, financial aid, and your DalCard. You'll also find the bookstore, caf茅, computer labs, and key academic departments like Business and Social Sciences, and Plant, Food, and Environmental Sciences.

The building supports both academic success and student wellbeing, with spaces like the Indigenous Student Centre and the Help Centre, as well as the Truro Start Program that eases students into university life. Whether you're grabbing a coffee, attending a class, or seeking support, Cox is a place you'll visit often.

50 Pictou Road

The Langille Athletic Centre (LAC) is the hub for fitness, fun, and community at Dal AC. Included in your student fees, the LAC features a gymnasium, weight and cardio rooms, and a variety of free fitness classes like line dancing, yoga, and pickleball.

It鈥檚 also home to varsity teams鈥攊ncluding soccer, volleyball, badminton, cross country running, women鈥檚 rugby, and the campus-favourite logger sports鈥攁nd offers recreational leagues for students and even faculty. With a welcoming atmosphere and something for every skill level, the LAC is where students go to stay active, connect with others, and unwind from their studies.

20 Cumming Drive

The Dal AC Campus has three residence buildings: Fraser, Chapman, and Trueman. Residences offer various room types鈥攕ingles, super singles, and doubles鈥攚ith options like quiet floors or all-female floors, while Trueman includes designated space for mature students.

Each house features common spaces like lounges, games rooms, study areas, and a kitchenette, along with fun community events such as movie nights and crafts through the Aggies at Night program.

10, 20, & 30 Horseshoe Crescent

Jenkins Hall, the campus dining hall where most residence students enjoy their meals. Jenkins offers hot meals, a salad bar, dessert and ice cream stations, coffee, and a unique 鈥淢y Pantry鈥 space where students can cook their own meals using ingredients supplied by the kitchen.

Upstairs, you鈥檒l find The Barn, our campus pub, which hosts fun events including bingo, line dancing, and themed trivia nights鈥攐pen to all students, with age-based access to alcohol.

40 Horseshoe Crescent

Cumming Hall, home to our Dean and Finance offices. While it鈥檚 not a classroom building, it holds a small theatre that hosts occasional staff/student productions. It was also the original building of the NSAC or Nova Scotia Agricultural Collage, so they use to have lots of classes in here.

The Dairy Building now houses the Student Success Centre, a key resource hub to help students thrive in their first year and beyond. Here you鈥檒l find academic advising, accessibility services, learning skills support, and general campus guidance鈥攁ll available through a welcoming and knowledgeable team.

The building also has an on-campus nurse to assist with health concerns, prescriptions, and referrals, especially helpful for international students. All services are included in student fees.

This building is also home to Dal Security, who are on duty 24/7, and students can use the DalSAFE app for safety tools like campus maps, Buddy Walk, emergency texts, or even a scheduled call to exit uncomfortable situations.

Extension Engineering houses the new Landscape Architecture Design Studio Lab, providing students with a creative space to develop beautiful and sustainable designs. 正品蓝导航鈥檚 Landscape Architecture program offers hands-on experiences鈥攆rom gardening and tree-climbing to digital design and model building鈥攁llowing students to bring their artistic vision to life. 20 Rock Garden Road

Haley Building鈥攈ome to Animal Science and Aquaculture, where hands-on labs in anatomy, physiology, equine science, and aquaculture take place. If you're passionate about animals of any kind, this is where you'll thrive. The department offers a wide range of programs including Animal Science, Bioveterinary Science, Aquaculture, and Veterinary Technology, along with minors and certificates.

Students get hands-on from day one and can join opportunities like the Pre-Vet Society, international trips to Africa, the Philippines, and the UK, and fieldwork in our hatcheries and barns. Whether you're aiming for vet school or exploring careers in animal care, research, or aquaculture, this department opens doors through labs, internships, and global learning.

The Dal AC Farm complex is home to a range of hands-on animal facilities where students gain real-world experience. You'll find the Ruminant Animal Centre (RAC), Boulden Vet Clinic, Atlantic Poultry Research Centre, Chute鈥檚 Nutrition Centre, and the Barron Pride Stable.

From dairy barns and poultry labs to equine handling and nutrition research, students can volunteer, take part in practicums, adopt cows, learn to drive tractors, and even show livestock in the annual College Royal event鈥攏o experience needed! The farm offers unique learning and summer job opportunities, especially for Animal Science, Biovet, and Vet Tech students.

39 Farmstead Court

The small black Humanities House is where many faculty offices are located鈥攅specially for language, social sciences, and communications. It鈥檚 a charming older home converted into office space, giving it a cozy, unique vibe.

Nearby is the grey Rural Research Centre, which hosts much of our graduate research and second-year Plant Science labs. Here, students dive deeper into topics like soil fertility and crop preparation, especially during harvest season. Both buildings play a key role in academic life on campus.

56-58 Rock Garden Road

The tropical Collins greenhouse is a warm, green oasis open to all students and a perfect study spot, especially in the winter. With its jungle-like atmosphere and cozy seating, it鈥檚 a hidden gem on campus.

Just outside is part of our beautiful rock garden, the largest rock garden east of Montreal! Feel free to wander the paths, enjoy the labeled plants, and take a peaceful break here.

160 College Road

International House, the welcoming white building beside the library, supports cultural exchanges and study abroad opportunities for our students. Whether you鈥檙e looking to study globally, need financial aid for trips, or want to connect with people from around the world, International House is an essential resource throughout your time at Dal.

The SLC offers a wide range of resources to support student success, including research materials, a computer lab, and campus-wide printing services. Unique features include the self-serve Barley Caf茅, bookable private and group study rooms equipped with whiteboards, and the DASA student association office upstairs, where students can access event tickets or get help starting new clubs.

The Writing Centre downstairs provides expert help with writing and citations. The library also houses the art gallery in the winter semester and the Cultiv8 sandbox. Cultiv8 offers students hands-on entrepreneurship opportunities and supplies affordable produce to the community during the summer months.

135 College Road

The Banting Building is home to our Engineering programs. First- and second-year Engineering students take foundational courses here before transferring to Halifax to specialize.

The building features bright lecture rooms, computer labs with industry software like GIS, and design spaces with 3D printers for prototyping. Engineering students also participate in a robotics team that collaborates with Halifax, showcasing impressive projects near the entrance.

Fitness and recreation opportunities

As a student, you will have full access to the Langille Athletic Centre. The home of the Rams includes a weight room, cardio room, gymnasium and squash courts!
